A Vow to You

About this drama

Three years ago, to repay her father's gambling debts, Xia Youyou was arranged by Madame Pei to marry Pei Sili. Shortly after obtaining their marriage certificate, Pei Sili left for Africa to conduct pharmaceutical research, while Xia Youyou stayed home to care for Madame Pei, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease. Three years later, with Pei Sili's whereabouts unknown, Madame Pei grew anxious about the family line and pleaded with Xia Youyou to undergo artificial insemination using Pei Sili's preserved sperm to bear his child. Deeply attached to Madame Pei, Xia Youyou agreed. However, after she successfully conceived, Madame Pei suffered a relapse and forgot about Xia Youyou and the artificial insemination. Taking advantage of the situation, Pei Yutang accused Xia Youyou of infidelity and expelled her from the Pei family. Left with no other choice, Xia Youyou rented a temporary home in an urban village, hoping to wait until Madame Pei recovered her memory. Fearing retaliation from the influential Pei family, she changed her name to Xia He and found work at a hospital, saving up for her baby's future. When Pei Sili returned to the Pei family and found Xia Youyou missing, Pei Yutang informed him that she had become pregnant due to an ""affair."" Pei Sili immediately sent people to locate Xia Youyou, intending to divorce her, but the two repeatedly missed each other due to a series of misunderstandings. News of Pei Sili's return spread quickly, and prominent families from Shengjing flocked to seek collaborations. Overwhelmed by the attention and dedicated to his medical career, Pei Sili changed his name to Pei Chen and took up the role of honorary president at a hospital. There, he coincidentally met Xia He, who was working as a psychologist. As they spent time together, feelings developed between them. While arranging to discuss divorce matters with Xia Youyou, Pei Sili also found himself having to ensure Xia He's safe pregnancy. During this process, he gradually fell in love with her but struggled internally, torn between hoping she would terminate the pregnancy and not wanting to cause her distress. In the end, Madame Pei regained her clarity and revealed the truth, leading to a joyful resolution for all.
