Conrad traps them, forcing Otis to confess and face justice. Using the newly emerging DNA paternity test, Conrad discovers Irene is not Mia's real mother—Irene and Dominic Hawthorne actually kidnapped her! When Mia's biological father dies abroad, leaving her a massive inheritance and an ancestral estate, Irene plots to kill her for the money. Conrad intervenes just in time, exposing Irene and Dominic and sending them to prison. With the truth revealed, Conrad and Mia finally get their happy ending.
