Beneath the Docility

About this drama

In New York’s Upper East Side, 19-year-old Leah Vaughn was taken in by her uncle, Marcus Hale, after her parents perished in a "bizarre fire." She inherited her mother’s unique blood; Marcus, himself a half-vampire, developed a morbid possessiveness toward her—coveting not only the Vaughn family’s art empire and secret wealth but also desiring to control her blood to sustain his own youth and power. To protect herself, Leah feigned docility, enduring Marcus’s house arrest and psychological abuse while secretly investigating the cause of her parents' deaths. During a Hale family charity gala, she orchestrated a scene to create a diversion; amidst the ensuing chaos, she fled into the room of Seth—a pureblood vampire and heir to the Dark Night Consortium. Seth was in a vulnerable, heightened state at the time, and Leah’s unique blood instantly captivated him, leading to an intimate encounter neither could control. Upon discovering Seth’s true nature, Leah resolved to leverage his power to exact revenge on the uncle who held her captive. Leah subsequently went abroad for her studies, only to reunite with Seth upon her return to New York. He forced her into a blood pact, triggering the awakening of her own supernatural abilities. This bond, sealed in blood, unravels Marcus’s sinister schemes and the truth behind her parents' deaths, launching a saga of redemption and vengeance.
