Crafting Fragrance to Capture the Emperor’s Heart

About this drama

Gu Nanzhi, a modern perfume developer, accidentally travels back to ancient times and takes over the body of Gu Nanzhi, the legitimate eldest daughter of the Prime Minister’s Manor. The original girl’s birth mother was murdered in a conspiracy plotted by her stepmother Madam Gu and half-sister Gu Pingting. Her father Gu Chengming doted on his concubine and neglected his lawful wife, paying no heed to his eldest daughter’s life and death. Worse still, Gu Pingting framed her, swapped their identities as palace maid candidates, and forced Gu Nanzhi to stay at Miaoyin Temple for five years of mourning for the late Emperor. On the way to the temple, Gu Pingting forced lethal medicine down the original girl’s throat and killed her. The transmigrated Gu Nanzhi regained hazy consciousness in a dilapidated temple, where she met Xiao Jingheng, the reigning Emperor, who had been attacked and hid there wounded. The two spent one night together by fate. Later, Gu Nanzhi found out she was pregnant. With the secret help of Abbess Huixin, the head of Miaoyin Temple, she hid her pregnancy, gave birth to a son named Gu Xiaobao alone, and raised him in seclusion at the temple.
