Demon‑Hunting Chronicles: Child of Heavenly Dao

About this drama

Fifteen years ago, the Zhao Clan, the most powerful demon‑hunting household in Northern Liang, suffered a devastating surprise attack led by the Demon Lord Chonglou and the Wolf Overlord. Compounded by traitors within the demon‑hunting ranks, nearly every member of the Zhao family was massacred. In the desperate chaos, the male protagonist Zhao Bufan was smuggled away at the cost of his mother Lin Wan’s life. He inherited the clan’s Yin‑Yang Fish Pendant and bore her dying warning: *“A traitor lurks among demon‑hunters. Trust no one.”* Left behind, he wandered into the vast desert. Fifteen years slipped by. Now grown, Zhao Bufan wields the orthodox Taoist arts passed down by the Zhao Clan. Using the Yin‑Yang Fish Pendant to absorb demon cores for cultivation, he roams the demon‑infested desert. He slays monsters to raise his power while hunting down his enemies and unravelling the truth behind his clan’s annihilation. By chance, he meets Lu Ningshuang, a young female demon‑hunter, aboard a pleasure barge. The two join forces to wipe out a fox‑demon faction entrenched on the vessel and begin travelling together. They endure countless perils along their journey. At the Lin Manor, Zhao Bufan defeats Tian Lang, son of the Wolf Overlord, with a single strike and shatters the giant illusory avatar remotely projected by the Wolf Overlord, revealing extraordinary strength. Later, they fall into a mirror illusion conjured by the Mirror Demon, who can copy every martial skill and divine ability of his opponents. Drawing power from the Yin‑Yang Fish Pendant, Zhao Bufan unleashes Tai‑Chi Light‑Splitting to dispel the illusion and slay the Mirror Demon.
