Dual Secret Identities: We Were Meant to Be

About this drama

At 23, Lin Xiyan is the sole heir of the hidden wealthy Lin family in Qingcheng. Her parents died in a car accident years ago, leaving her to raise her twin younger brothers alone. To evade villains coveting her family fortune, she conceals her identity and lives a low‑key life selling vegetables at a street stall. An arranged marriage was long ago set between the Lin family and the top‑tier Murong clan, yet Lin Xiyan keeps avoiding it, unwilling to enter a marriage by alliance. Twenty‑five‑year‑old Murong Xiao, the powerful CEO of Murong Group, strongly resents the family‑arranged betrothal. He longs for a genuine partner who does not chase wealth. One day, Lin Xiyan is harassed by Wei Chen, a tormentor from her high‑school days, while running her stall. Murong Xiao steps in to rescue her and is immediately drawn to her unyielding dignity. He proposes to her on the spot, only to be turned down. Later, pestered by her twin brothers to get married, Lin Xiyan reluctantly attends a high‑school reunion. Bai Lian, Wang Zinong and Wei Chen humiliate her for selling vegetables, spread lewd rumors about her, and frame her for stealing an expensive bracelet. At the critical moment, Murong Xiao shows up. He pulls surveillance footage to expose Bai Lian’s frame‑up. The two get married in a flash civil ceremony. Both deliberately hide their true backgrounds: Lin Xiyan claims she is just an ordinary street‑vendor girl, while Murong Xiao pretends to be merely a CEO assistant.
