About this drama

In the depths of a catastrophic famine, Daniu Village is ravaged by a severe drought. The entire village has run out of food for half a month, leaving villagers suffering from hunger and bitter cold. Liu Yuan’er, an orphan girl, lives only with her grandmother. When her grandmother is on the verge of death, the heirloom wooden bracelet on Yuan’er’s wrist suddenly unleashes a mysterious power, granting her the ability to travel between two worlds. She is transported to a bustling modern night market, stunned by the endless variety of food. Taking a bold chance, she successfully brings steamed meat buns back to the famine-stricken village, bringing a ray of hope to her dying grandmother and the desperate villagers. After that, Yuan’er travels back and forth between the two worlds frequently, supplying the whole village with modern food and clothing. When the village chief learns her secret, all villagers vow to guard it tightly and protect their village’s lucky star with all their might. But ease breeds greed. Villager Liu Daqiang covets her dimension-hopping ability, and secretly conspires with others to coerce Yuan’er. Fortunately, his righteous wife tips off the village in advance. The village chief leads the villagers to foil the plot on the spot, and the wrongdoers receive their due punishment. Not long after, a village child named Erbao falls critically ill, with no medicine available locally. Yuan’er immediately rushes to the modern world. With help from Aunt Lan, a kind-hearted steamed bun shop owner, she brings back medicine and saves Erbao’s life. To repay her kindness, the villagers present her with local specialties like wild mountain produce and wild ginseng — simple, sincere goodwill that transcends time and space.
