Moonlit Bridge of Nostalgia

About this drama

On the Mid-Autumn Festival, Yu Ying was supposed to celebrate with her husband, Zhou Minghao. Instead, she received unexpected news from her long-lost birth mother, Zhao Wanzhi. Filled with hope, Yu Ying rushed out to reunite with her. Meanwhile, Zhou Minghao secretly received flirtatious messages from his mistress, Zhao Fangfang. Lying about urgent business, he abandoned his wife to meet Zhao Fangfang for a New Year's Eve rendezvous. Tragedy struck almost immediately. Just steps from her door, Yu Ying slipped on an oil-slicked patch deliberately iced over and fell heavily, endangering her pregnancy. The orchestrator of this cruel act was none other than Zhao Wanzhi herself, hiding in the shadows. Manipulated by her adopted daughter, Zhao Fangfang, who had threatened suicide, Zhao Wanzhi poured the water to freeze the path, intending to cause Yu Ying to miscarry and die. Driven by a twisted desire to fulfill Zhao Fangfang's every wish—including replacing Yu Ying as Mrs. Zhou and inheriting the family fortune—Zhao Wanzhi had transferred all her guilt and misplaced maternal love for her biological daughter onto the adopted one. She remained tragically unaware that Yu Ying was the very child she had spent years searching for. Stranded and in peril on the deserted New Year's Eve street, Yu Ying's life hung by a thread until Dr. Jiang Ze, returning from overtime, found her. He administered first aid and called an ambulance. However, as the ambulance tried to leave, a frantic and guilt-ridden Zhao Wanzhi blocked the exit with her car, even throwing herself in front of it. When paramedics attempted to reverse, Zhao Fangfang arrived, boxing the ambulance in. Zhou Minghao arrived amidst the chaos. The Zhao women conspired to hide that Yu Ying was inside the ambulance. Knowing Zhou's mother desperately wanted a grandson and unwilling to raise his child with Yu Ying, Zhao Fangfang was determined to make mother and baby vanish. In a desperate bid, Jiang Ze and the team transferred Yu Ying to a second rescue vehicle that arrived just in time. Amidst the frantic escape, a keepsake pendant identical to Zhao Fangfang's fell from Yu Ying and was found by Zhao Wanzhi. Seeing the pendant, Zhao Wanzhi was thunderstruck, realizing the woman she had just tried to kill was her true biological daughter. Devastated to learn she was merely a stand-in enjoying love meant for Yu Ying, Zhao Fangfang's jealousy turned murderous. She exploited Zhao Wanzhi's panic and guilt, urging her to finish Yu Ying off. Despite the relentless attacks, Jiang Ze's skill saved Yu Ying's life, though she tragically lost the baby. When the full truth emerged, Zhao Wanzhi, shattered by the realization she had caused her own grandchild's death, descended into madness. Justice prevailed: Zhou Minghao, Zhao Fangfang, and their accomplices were arrested and imprisoned.
