On Wedding Day, My Ex-fiancé Dug His Own Grave

About this drama

Jiang Zhixia, the eldest daughter of the Jiang family, had been in love with Huo Yanchen for seven years. To support him, she invested vast resources and even meticulously prepared for their marriage registration. She decorated the banquet hall in his "favorite" blue rose theme and custom-made a ring embedded with rare diamonds. However, on the day they were supposed to register their marriage, Huo Yanchen’s white moonlight, Qin Chuchu, suddenly appeared, claiming to be "terminally ill with little time left." Ignoring their seven-year relationship, Huo Yanchen immediately chose to leave with Qin Chuchu, even demanding that Jiang Zhixia help take care of her, promising to "rekindle their love" once Qin Chuchu recovered. Finally seeing through Huo Yanchen’s selfishness, Jiang Zhixia contacted the man she had once rejected—Fu Sinian, CEO of the Fu Group—and the two swiftly went to the civil affairs office to register their marriage, starting a new life together. Huo Yanchen, completely convinced of Qin Chuchu’s "illness," not only allowed her to take over the luxury banquet hall Jiang Zhixia had booked at the International Hotel for their engagement party but also moved into Jiang Zhixia’s villa without permission. He cleared out the master bedroom for Qin Chuchu and threw Jiang Zhixia’s belongings into the maid’s room. When Jiang Zhixia resisted, he callously shoved her out the door. Meanwhile, Huo Yanchen’s friend Fang Yu, who had long enjoyed Jiang Zhixia’s generosity while badmouthing her behind her back, had all Jiang-Fang business collaborations terminated by her decisive retaliation. Huo Yanchen’s mother, Zhou Xiuying, also showed her true colors, siding with her son and repeatedly insulting Jiang Zhixia. To expose Qin Chuchu’s lies, Jiang Zhixia tracked down her ex-boyfriend Zhou Fang, who had evidence of Qin Chuchu’s scandalous past—photos, videos, and medical reports proving she was never sick. When Huo Yanchen and Qin Chuchu held a livestreamed wedding in Jiang Zhixia’s villa, Jiang Zhixia arrived with the evidence, publicly revealing Qin Chuchu’s deception. Fu Sinian arrived just in time to shield her, while his assistant presented proof that Qin Chuchu was actually a wanted financial fraudster from Country M. Panicked, Qin Chuchu tried to flee but was arrested by waiting police officers. Only after the scam was exposed did Huo Yanchen realize his grave mistake. He fell to his knees, begging Jiang Zhixia for forgiveness, but she coldly turned away. In the end, stripped of Jiang Zhixia’s support, Huo Yanchen lost everything—his reputation, his wealth, and his future. One year later, Jiang Zhixia and Fu Sinian were happily married, expecting their first child. As they lovingly picked out candied hawthorns on the street, their joy was palpable. Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the road, Huo Yanchen could only watch from afar, dragging his suitcase in silent regret, forever paying the price for his choices.
