Plot Twist in My Mind

About this drama

Amy accidentally time-travels into the period novel she wrote, becoming a cannon-fodder side character who’s about to be publicly exposed for adultery. According to the original plot, she’ll be thrown out penniless and meet a tragic end. To return to the real world, she must change her fate. When the "affair" scandal erupts, she quickly denies the accusations and decides to cling to her officer husband, Zane, for survival. Then, suddenly, everyone in the military compound gains the ability to hear Amy’s inner thoughts. Through her mental monologues, they learn the future plot: the seemingly kind Stella is the real villain who’ll bring ruin to the entire community. At first, they’re skeptical, but as Amy’s predictions keep coming true, they gradually uncover the truth. Using her modern knowledge, Amy helps the compound residents—teaching army wives handicrafts to earn income, coaching educated youths for college exams, and improving factory production methods. Under her lead, the community begins to thrive. Meanwhile, her relationship with Zane evolves from mutual distrust to a partnership. When Stella schemes again, the prepared residents collectively counterattack, exposing her in public. Amy even leverages modern business strategies to pioneer private entrepreneurship during China’s early reform era, turning the compound into one of the first "10,000-yuan households." In the end, Amy not only alters the original plot but also finds genuine love. Just as she’s about to return to the real world after completing her mission, Zane’s heartfelt confession convinces her to stay. Under her guidance, the compound builds a future a hundred times brighter than the novel’s grim ending.
