Provoking the Dangerous Heir

About this drama

To fulfill a dynastic marriage pact, Chi Jia weds Chen Mian — heir to the Chensil Group — in name only. Desperate for a child, she demands he fund her affair with a male escort to conceive. Stung by pride, he agrees. Chi Jia selects Lu Zenian from an elite club, unaware he’s the hidden CEO of conglomerate Huanya. As their intimacy deepens, Chen Mian rekindles ties with Xu Qingqing — his supposed savior. But the true rescuer was Chi Jia; Xu is an impostor. While Lu Zenian secretly sabotages Chensil-Chi alliances to free Chi Jia, Chen Qian (the family’s adopted daughter) manipulates Xu Qingqing into framing Chi Jia for a staged balcony fall. The shock sends Mrs. Chen into critical condition. Lu Zenian flies in a world-class medical team to save Mrs. Chen while gathering evidence against Chen Qian. Awakening to his love for Chi Jia, Chen Mian finds her heart belongs to Lu Zenian. After recovery, Mrs. Chen endorses their divorce. Lu Zenian exposes Chen Qian’s schemes, leading to her arrest for attempted murder. Visiting Chen Qian in jail, Chi Jia reveals Mrs. Chen’s will granting them equal inheritance. Chen Qian breaks down in silent remorse. At a victory gala, Lu Zenian stuns the crowd with a public proposal: “Marry me for 20% of Huanya.” He trades controlling shares for her ring, vowing to build “a fortress of shared wealth” around her. Chi Jia finally embraces love without fear. As Chen Mian departs abroad with Xu Qingqing for his mother’s treatment, Chi Jia and Lu Zenian claim their hard-won freedom — conquering both boardrooms and hearts.
