Reborn for You, Through Beacon and Frost

About this drama

In his past life, Shen Fengnian fought endlessly on the battlefield to guard the borderlands of the Great Zhou Dynasty. He poured all his sincere affection upon his wife Lin Wanqing, yet never won her heart. Lin Wanqing thought Shen Fengnian knew nothing but warfare and romantic trivialities. She was infatuated with Gu Yanzhi, a gifted scholar skilled in honeyed words, and secretly kept in contact with him. It was only after Shen Fengnian was betrayed and died alongside three thousand soldiers on the battlefield that he learned the whole truth in the Yama Palace: Gu Yanzhi manipulated Lin Wanqing to steal military intelligence, and he was the mastermind behind the deaths of Shen Fengnian and his three thousand troops. The one who truly loved him was Su Rushuang, who had always stayed by his side. Su Rushuang, the emperor’s own younger sister, concealed her royal identity to follow Shen Fengnian and join the army. After Shen Fengnian’s death, she fought to her last breath protecting his body. Moved by Shen Fengnian’s lifelong loyalty and bravery in service of the nation and its people, King Yama granted him a second life. Shen Fengnian is reborn on the day Lin Wanqing holds a ball-tossing ritual to select her husband. This time, he does not catch the embroidered ball that symbolized their doomed past-life bond. He steps aside, letting the ball land right at Gu Yanzhi’s feet. Unexpectedly, Lin Wanqing also retains her memories from the previous life. She still believes her past suffering stemmed from marrying the wrong man, so she gladly chooses Gu Yanzhi, hoping to live the romantic life of scholar and beauty she has always longed for. Shen Fengnian lets go of his old love completely, vowing to make amends for what he failed to give his nation, his soldiers, and Su Rushuang in his last life.
