She Missed My Last Breath...

About this drama

"Luna drove her daughter, Ruan, to the exam site. It wasn’t until Jonah and his son got into the car that Ruan realized her mother’s concern had never been about her at all. Begging Luna to drop her off first, Ruan was met with a cold refusal. Stunned, she stared at her mother, only for Luna to insist, ""Uncle Jonah’s son is more important,"" and force her out of the car. Forced to sprint through the storm, Ruan was struck by an out-of-control vehicle and collapsed, severely injured and unconscious. At the hospital, the doctor informed Chris that his daughter urgently needed a rare ""panda blood"" transfusion—and the only matching donor was Luna. Frantically, Chris tried calling his wife, but her phone went unanswered. Unbeknownst to him, Luna was fully occupied with Jonah and his son, even turning off her phone. She assumed her husband was lying to manipulate her into coming home, all to stop her from helping Jonah. As precious minutes slipped away, Ruan, without the critical transfusion, was declared dead. Chris broke down in agony—just as his phone buzzed with a photo from Jonah. It showed Luna, Jonah, and his son toasting cheerfully at a hot pot restaurant, their smiles radiant. The image pierced his heart like a knife. Determined to give Luna one last chance at redemption, Chris scheduled Ruan’s cremation on a day she could attend. But swayed by Jonah and his son’s sweet words, Luna chose not to go. Her absence shattered whatever remained of Chris’s hope, deepening the rift between them. Without waiting any longer, he sent their daughter into the cremation chamber—Luna had missed her final chance to see Ruan. Later, Chris decided to hold the funeral at Tide & Sky, their family company’s premier banquet hall. Coincidentally, Luna had planned to use the same venue to celebrate Ruan and Zane’s birthday. When the two confronted each other at the event, their argument erupted into a bitter clash. Only then did Luna learn the devastating truth—that her actions had indirectly led to their daughter’s death. Overwhelmed with regret, she collapsed under the weight of her guilt, but it was far too late. The damage was irreversible."
