About this drama
During the Great Xia Dynasty, Su Qingqing, a merchant’s daughter, lost both parents. Her bankrupt uncle forced her to become a wealthy merchant’s concubine. Desperate to escape the arranged marriage, she accidentally charged into the imperial procession of Emperor Xiao He, who was traveling south. Moved by her plight and reminded of his beloved Shen Min’s misfortune, Xiao He saved her. He gave her a personal jade pendant and told her to enter the palace as a maid once her mourning period ended. Yet Su Qingqing misunderstood, convinced the emperor favored her and planned to make her empress. Three years of mourning passed. Su Qingqing brought her best friends Zhao Jiaojiao and Fang Yuanyuan to the palace with the jade pendant. Eunuch Xia recognized the emperor’s personal token and mistakenly took her as the empress the emperor intended to appoint, welcoming her with great deference. Seizing the chance, Su Qingqing pretended to be empress and acted recklessly in the harem. She slapped palace maids, stripped and expelled servants to build an arrogant reputation. Later, she stormed into the Golden Throne Hall, sat on the imperial dragon chair and presided over state affairs. She arbitrarily executed ministers and dismissed loyal officials. She appointed Zhao Jiaojiao Minister of Revenue and Fang Yuanyuan Minister of War, treating the imperial court like a game. When the Crown Prince of Great Liang came to negotiate an alliance, she outrageously ordered the prince to be castrated, publicly tore up the treaty, and declared war on four neighboring kingdoms. Upon hearing the news, Emperor Xiao He was consumed by rage, spat blood and fell into a coma.

Bestie — Defy the Original Plot Today
Su Nian is the biological daughter in a rich-family true-and-fake daughter novel, yet she is also the tormented heroine trapped by the story’s plot. Raised in an orphanage, her only friend was her bestie Lin Xiaoxiao. Lin Xiaoxiao passed away three years ago. After Su Nian was brought home by her birth family, the Su Clan, she thought she finally had a family — only to find herself outshone in every way by the fake daughter Su Wanrou. Her parents favoured Su Wanrou, her elder brother loathed her, and her husband Gu Yanchuan hated her to the bone. At the family recognition banquet half a year prior, Su Nian was drugged and had a one-night stand with Gu Yanchuan. Forced to marry into the Gu family, she was branded a schemer who drugged a man to coerce marriage. She lost her six-month pregnancy, hitting rock bottom. Overwhelmed by despair, she went to Lin Xiaoxiao’s grave and tried to slit her wrists. Just as the blade was about to cut her skin, an explosion erupted at Lin Xiaoxiao’s grave. Her best friend, who had been dead for three years, crawled out of the tomb. It turned out Lin Xiaoxiao had run up a 30-billion-yuan loan shark debt in the underworld, and she put down Su Nian as the guarantor when borrowing the money. To pay off the debt, she returned to Su Nian’s side as a “system”. Only Su Nian could see and hear her.

Fantasy: I Can Simplify Everything
Lin Feng wakes up and transmigrates to the Heavenly Mystic Continent, becoming a lowly handyman disciple of the Heavenly Demon Sect, a demonic cult. At that time, Saintess Mu Ling'er gathers all disciples and announces that the righteous sects will unite to wipe out the demonic sect in one month. Anyone who masters the first level of a Profound-Rank technique within twelve hours will be chosen as her dual cultivation partner. By chance, Lin Feng picks the hardest mid-tier Profound-Rank skill, Heavenly Demon Calamity Transcendence Art. As the deadline approaches, his cheat ability finally activates — the Simplification System: all things can be simplified. While others need three days to practice the skill, he reaches full mastery after just ten minutes of meditation. A heavenly demon rune appears on his forehead, stunning everyone. Mu Ling'er immediately chooses him as her cultivation partner, which provokes Senior Brother Xiao Heng, who admires her. Lin Feng sends Xiao Heng, at the 10th Layer of Qi Refining, flying with one punch and seizes his alchemy notes. Later, he simplifies Heavenly Demon Dual Cultivation Art into a simple kiss. He claims Mu Ling'er's first kiss and breaks through to Foundation Establishment. However, the intense dual cultivation causes Mu Ling'er to go mad. She needs a Marrow-Cleansing Origin-Restoring Pill to recover. Lin Feng heads to Miasma Pill Peak for the medicine but is trapped by Xiao Heng's elder sister, Xiao Ningxue, a Half-Golden Core alchemist known as the Pill Fairy. She gives him an ultimatum: produce pill fire within three hours, or become her pill slave. Lin Feng simplifies alchemy into "rolling grass pellets." He conjures pill fire in the time it takes to burn one incense stick and qualifies as a Grade-1 Alchemist.
