The Hidden Heir’s Revenge: From Doormat to Dominance

About this drama

"Five years ago, when Liam Lin was at his lowest, Jessica Li took him in. Unbeknownst to her, Liam was actually the heir to the powerful Skylight Group, bound by his grandfather's rule: he could only inherit the empire if he married a woman from an elite family. To be with Jessica, Liam abandoned his inheritance, hiding his true identity while serving her family - cooking, cleaning, and enduring their contempt as a ""useless freeloader."" Secretly, Liam used his connections to transform the struggling Li family business into a corporate giant. Just as he and Jessica were about to marry, she abandoned him at the altar upon hearing her adoptive brother Justin Li had returned from abroad. In his desperate chase after the wedding car, Liam was hit by a car. Bleeding and unable to reach Jessica, Liam realized the painful truth: he'd been nothing but a five-year placeholder for Justin. As Jessica rushed to comfort Justin (who later hit Liam while drunk driving), the Li family framed Liam for the accident. The final betrayal came when the Lis announced Jessica would marry Justin instead - at the same venue on Liam's original wedding day. Emerging from surgery, Liam made his move. He accepted an arranged marriage with business heiress Zoey Zhang and returned to the Li mansion. When the family mocked his absence from ""his own wedding,"" they were stunned to find him in a groom's tuxedo - for a different ceremony happening simultaneously. As Jessica watched in shock, Liam took back his engagement ring and gifted it to Zoey, walking away from the Lis forever. Now reclaiming his Skylight Group inheritance, the once-humbled billionaire has one last message for the family who betrayed him: ""You had a king in your house... and you treated him as a servant.""
