The Psychiatrist's Reckoning

About this drama

Psychiatrist Ji Luoyi dedicated seven years to healing Pei Yanchao from depression, supposedly caused by school bullying. Their journey culminated in marriage. Yet, on their seventh anniversary, her world shattered when she discovered Pei Yanchao in bed with Song Shuman—the very woman who had allegedly tormented him. Determined to divorce, Ji Luoyi uncovered a devastating truth: the bullying was a fabricated lie. Pei Yanchao had feigned illness solely to infiltrate her life and exact revenge for Song Shuman. Song harbored deep resentment because Ji Luoyi’s mother had reported her father’s crimes years prior. The divorce turned ugly. Song Shuman falsely claimed pregnancy to pressure Pei Yanchao. His mother, driven by greed and vanity, shamelessly sided with Song. Amidst the turmoil, Ji Luoyi discovered her own pregnancy—only to learn Pei Yanchao suffered from oligospermia, proving she was never the cause of their past infertility. Heartbroken yet resolute, she chose to terminate the pregnancy. With the steadfast support of her childhood friend, Gu Group CEO Gu Qingyan, Ji Luoyi obtained irrefutable proof of Song Shuman’s fake pregnancy, publicly exposing her deceit. Cornered and vengeful, Song Shuman resorted to online smear campaigns and even attempted to harm Gu Qingyan’s sister, Gu Luoluo, as blackmail. This culminated in a final confrontation where Song Shuman suffered a complete mental breakdown. Choosing compassion over retribution, Ji Luoyi declined to press charges. Instead, she channeled her energy into her career and personal growth. She successfully finalized the divorce and achieved professional excellence, earning the prestigious title of Haicheng City’s Most Popular Young Physician. Throughout her ordeal, Gu Qingyan had been her silent guardian, offering unwavering support. Having shed the weight of her painful past, Ji Luoyi embraced a new beginning, accepting Gu Qingyan’s proposal. Together, they stepped into a future filled with promise. As for Pei Yanchao and his mother? They were left to face the consequences of their treachery and greed, reaping the misery they had sown.
