Who Knew Love Could Be So Treacherous

About this drama

The story revolved around Alicia, a jewelry designer who had been deceived and hurt by her boyfriend, Ryan. After enduring eight years of emotional blackmail and psychological manipulation, she found the strength to break free with the help of Leland Morris, the CEO of the Morris Group. This journey led her to regain her confidence, return to society, and rediscover herself. In this tumultuous relationship, Alicia had been trapped in the false "emotional obligation" set by Ryan. She constantly compromised for love, distancing herself from society and suppressing her true feelings, ultimately losing her autonomy and becoming a pawn in others' games. Ryan further exploited her as a "tool." However, after meeting Leland, Alicia gradually realized that her previous understanding was narrow and flawed. She learned that a healthy relationship should be based on mutual understanding and growth, rather than deriving satisfaction and success through the oppression of the other. With Leland's decisive intervention, Alicia experienced continuous growth. She re-engaged with society, resumed her work, and reignited her passion for her career. Throughout her efforts, she upheld professional ethics, actively combated intellectual theft and imitation, and ultimately gained recognition from her colleagues and clients. Her hard work earned her a place in society, where she established her own standing.
