Xu Ying, a top paleoclimatologist, turned down a tenured professorship at MIT after returning to her home country. Having earned an international award for her outstanding research achievements, she resolutely joined University A as a full professor and graduate supervisor to devote herself to domestic academic research. On her first day at work, Xu Ying is maliciously harassed by Lin Youcheng, a postgraduate admission candidate, in the teaching building corridor. Infatuated with her appearance, Lin Youcheng spills milk tea on her to initiate contact. He builds a fake persona as "a disadvantaged student fighting academic privilege", continuously livestreaming to defame Xu Ying. He falsely accuses her of research fraud, securing her position through her father, the dean, and plagiarizing her students’ research findings. He even creates fake intimate photos via photo editing, establishes online harassment groups to stalk and slander innocent women, pushing cyberbullying to an extreme.
