Just as he steps out of the Shanhai Bureau headquarters, an ancient demon suddenly appears. The Bureau is caught off guard, and its members suffer heavy casualties. In the critical moment, the chief Demon Suppressor, Lin Wei (the female lead), arrives. With her exceptional combat skills, she engages in a fierce battle and ultimately slays the demon. As everyone celebrates their narrow escape, no one notices that the stolen primordial demonic power of the gluttonous Taotiu has slipped away... As a Demon Suppressor, Zhou Yi utilizes the Taotiu's demonic power to achieve numerous victories, discovering that he can absorb other demons' abilities by consuming their cores. Meanwhile, a mysterious organization called the Hundred Demons Society repeatedly approaches him, attempting to recruit him. During a battle against a powerful demon, Zhou Yi is forced to reveal his half-demon form in front of everyone to save Lin Wei. Exposed, he becomes a fugitive, hunted by the Shanhai Bureau. Though he rejects the Hundred Demons Society's offers, he eventually tames the Taotiu's will in a critical moment, rescuing the entire Demon Suppressor squad and earning their acceptance. With Lin Wei's help, he is reinstated—only for her to be captured by the Demon Emperor shortly after.
