Goodbye Jingzhi" is an urban family drama with intense emotional tension, centered around the narrative device sur a "deafness and mutism countdown." It tells the story of translator Jingzhi, who stands on the brink of both a health crisis and the collapse of his family, tracing his journey from desperate attempts to salvage his marriage to eventual clear-eyed resolve. Jingzhi and Baiye have been married for seven years and have a young daughter, Xiaoye. Baiye, the CEO of an influencer company, has never fully let go of her first love, Lin Zhixun. After Lin Zhixun returns to the country, Baiye gradually distances herself from her family. During one heated argument, she even hits Jingzhi with her car, causing him to develop psychosomatic deafness and muteness. Doctors inform him that he will completely lose his hearing and speech in just one week. Jingzhi promises his daughter Xiaoye that he will give Baiye one final week. However, during this week, he personally witnesses Baiye and Lin Zhixun behaving intimately in public—at her company, at their daughter's school, and even during a Mother's Day event—humiliating both him and Xiaoye. Baiye forbids Xiaoye from calling her "Mom," while simultaneously showering affection on Lin Zhixun's son, Andy. After leaving, Jingzhi receives help from his former student, Qiao Fufu, who is not only the heiress of the Qiao Group but also shares the rare RH-negative blood type, enabling her to save Xiaoye when she urgently needs a blood transfusion. Qiao Fufu has always held deep admiration for Jingzhi. With her support, he undergoes surgery, gradually regains his hearing, and grows closer to her emotionally.
