Her Modern Kingdom

À propos de ce microdrame

Seraphina Ashton, crown princess sur the lost kingdom of Eirdan, kneels in her burning throne room in bloodstained white battle robes, her sword held to her own throat. As the golden griffin of Eirdan curls and falls in the flames, she ends her life—whispering "For Eirdan." She wakes gasping in a Manhattan penthouse of glass towers and glowing lights she has never seen. Beside her bed stands Damian Cross, a business titan whose security system confirms the impossible: she simply appeared. No identity. No records. No fingerprints. No DNA. Raised as a warrior-queen, Seraphina demands to see the ruler of this world. Damian answers flatly: there is no king here—he is the rule. Hearing formal Old English court speech in her words, he cancels the psychiatrist he was told to summon and begins investigating a woman who should not exist. Adapting to a world of robots, elevators, and television, Seraphina refuses to sit with her captor, then proves herself a negotiator, choosing to deal with Damian on equal terms. In his study, she transcribes Eirdan's complete royal genealogy from memory—flawless, ancient, meticulous. Damian shows it to Edmund Hayward, a legendary historian who trembles: no such lineage has ever been seen; the impossible may be true. That night, Damian opens a hidden safe. Inside rests a crown—gold, with rubies gone dim, and a griffin emblem. He presses Seraphina's ring into the crown's inner slot. It fits perfectly. He whispers, "Damn." She is not mad, not a ghost, not a fraud. She is the last queen of a kingdom that no longer exists—and Damian Cross, the rule of this world, has just found a crown waiting for its ruler.
